... Hoping for healthy kids on Christmas

My two year old - B2 - was ill last week and now it's my four 1/2 year old - B1 - who is sick with a cough, sniffles, sad eyes, and a "really sore foot." The foot incident apparently occurred yesterday afternoon while playing with friends upstairs (while parents visited). The injury ensued when "something" happened to make him jump from our bed (?) onto the floor and somehow he landed on his poor little foot the wrong way! B1 insisted that he could not walk and proceeded to limp across the floor wincing from (apparent) pain. This refrain continued until he realized that such pain may prevent him from doing his latest favorite thing, sledding.

Later B1 gave me no troubles as I gave his 'just a little bushy hair' a Christmas trim. This little brother was another story. It took me about 20 minutes to get less than 20 snips in. For every time I said "Look at Mommy!".... The cuts look great.

With tomorrow being Christmas Eve I hope all sicknesses (real and fictitious) are soon gone. As I type B2 (who has just dumped the laundry I folded and emptied a card game on the kitchen floor) bounds onto the couch and says, "Mommy, what's that?" "That's my blog," I reply. "Your Blog?" "Yes." With that he joins his ill brother watching 'Tractor Tom' on the TV. B2 says, "I love you, Mama." B1 gives me a kiss and says, "I love watching TV with you Mom." All this while the Dad of all Dads (DOAD) washes the kitchen floor. Yeah, I have a great one!
[P.S. Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I have a wife, FYI: DOAD doesn't routinely become Molly Maid after dinner and I retreat to my blog time. Rather, first apple juice, then chocolate milk hit the floor, lots of it and yes it went everywhere! Thanks! Actually, I could get used to that routine...]

Holiday Cheer and Motherly Love

Hello again,

It has been a year and I can't believe I have left this thing lie blank! The struggles, issues, trials and tribulations of motherhood have been many, though. I'd like to end the year with a promise that this is a new beginning. I will post weekly and use this as the venue for which it was intended. Christmas is fast approaching. My children are eagerly awaiting "Santa" and all the mystique of the holiday season (so am I!). This is not the time for reflecting on what did or did not happen this Fall. Instead, it is a time to wish all those mothers out there hope, joy and peace. Thanks to one special friend who encouraged me to pursue this!
